What do you do on Sundays?
Many people use Sundays to catch up their work, to watch TV, hang out with friends or go out for shopping. For some people, Sunday is the only day off during the week. For others, Sunday is like an extra holiday since they already have Saturday off. If it is a day to rest, why is it blue Mondays for many people after some good rest?
Sundays are supposed to be a day to rest in God, to reflect your work and your relationship with men kind. We ask for God's forgiveness on our wrong doings and ask God to strengthen us for the coming week.
It is not always easy to do this though. We often focus on our own needs rather than others'. We thought resting in bed is the sort of rests that we need the most after a very tiring week. I was reminded today that I should rest in God and spend time with loved ones on this Sabbath. We gain strength and wisdom from God and care for family and friends.
On the other hand, when I looked back to my church in Taiwan, I think some people might be too busy with church works on the weekends. We do all sorts of service and forget to rest and reflect. If we only give but not receive, how can we be equipped for the challenges and problems in our life?
Rest in God and find the comfort and strength we need from Him. Catch up with our loved ones, so that they know we do love and care about them.
